about

We have been extremely honored to be able to share our songs - stories, melodies, moments - and collaborations over the past few years with you. This EP is a product of all our work from early 2013 to our final show May 2015, and we believe this album represents what Social Set is: fun yet thought-provoking, positivity-focused and righteously grooving. There are times to think and question, times to lay back and relax, and times to sway your hips. We hope you enjoy our final EP as much as we have enjoyed making it. As always, thank you for getting friendly with the most Social of Sets.

Love and BOLO BOLO's,

Social Set

Track Name: Kanye
Verse:
Close your mouth - where’s your open mind? You don’t wanna consider, just wanna criticize
But expect me to agree with everything you like. Who told you the world is black and white?
Quick to judge and in no time at all, I have found myself quite appalled
Every bitter word is making me as good as gone. Your hang ups keep me from hanging on

Pre-Chorus
I believe that we are allowed to our opinion
In that same regard, we should respect others’ differences
Throwing stones only breaks our own glass houses
Why should anybody be subject to such pettiness?
STOP!

Chorus
So what if I like Kanye West's music? I've got a right to my
personal preferences, yes I can think for myself. (Repeat)

Verse
Now let me see, let me psychoanalyze. Seems to me, your words are a way to hide
Insecurity, so you build up walls by denouncing those who don’t share your mind.
Such a shame, but doesn’t mean I’ll tolerate a behavior that can not appreciate
Independence. It’s okay to separate and follow my own path as long as I’m okay

Pre-Chorus:
Yes I know that this is a method of your self-defense
But that doesn’t mean others are subject to your burden
Especially when you only show your ignorance
Promise you’d live freer if you focus on your happiness.
STOP!

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:
When will you ease up? Learn enough’s enough and see you’re pushing me away.
Weren’t like this at the start, not sure what took you so far, but I cannot commiserate.
Gave you chances at first to backpedal, but just got worse and I'm getting dragged down.
But I’m happy with who I am and I do not give a damn of your opinion, I’m standing my ground.

STOP!

Repeat Chorus
Track Name: No Worries
Verse:
Yes or no, is it so? I can’t answer yet.
Who's to say that I am crazy? Or am I? Can’t find my head.
Running, falling, climbing, all in / Time I might grow
Grow to understand who I am/ ain't, not yet, for me to know

Chorus
No worries, no problems. Everything's blurry but we're evolving.
For worse or for better, we will be together.

Verse
I’m just learning now what it means to seek out a life
Steady paced and ready to make peace with my pride
Pacing, racing, then I can’t take certain ignorance
As all my plans unwrap and withstand well meaned misguidance

Chorus Repeats Twice

(Saxophone & Trombone Solos w/ Bill Withers Breakdown!)

Chorus Repeats Twice
Track Name: Ease My Mind
Intro:
Steady now, take it slow...
No hurry, lets just grow.
You’re a welcome change,
With the love you laid...

Verse:
Steady now, take it slow, (in your own sweet time)
No hurry, lets just grow (savor the chance to unwind)
You’re a welcome change (as I count back the days)
With the love you laid, (when you pulled me from the haze)

Chorus:
Before I, I met you, I was wound so tight
You took my, my stresses, and you eased my mind
We don’t have to, have to stay - do what you like.
We’re connected through whatever, we’ll move just right.

Verse:
It hardly seems real, (I could not expect that)
Old wounds finally healed, (I found acceptance)
You gave truth and time (I am overwhelmed)
Imparting peace of mind (in how this love's swelled)

Chorus

(Bass Solo)

First Verse and Chorus Repeat
Track Name: Track of Time
Verse:
In this hazy, southern state the sun sets on your face
And it looks good, so good on you;
And with every word you speak, you remind me I am free
Free to be near to your truth.

Chorus:
I lose all track of time with your body next to mine.
Forget hide and seek, just find...I hope you will remember.

Verse:
It’s how you put your hand on mine, with a touch so very kind.
I'm caught in my emotion;
Then sweetness surrounds us, as we get caught up
Up and down in our devotion.

Chorus Repeats

Bridge:
No control in our circumstances
Deviate with me, take some chances
No more silly games.
We both know we can't be restrained.

(Keyboard solo)

Chorus Repeats
Track Name: Om A Hum
Verse:
The truth is clear but I’d rather keep looking for another answer
Keep searching for what I think's better and ignore the scars, just to suffer.

Pre-Chorus:
Where should I be placed to be effective, loving abundantly?
Returning all given to me, showing this joy in my dignity?

Chorus:
Om a hum benza guru padme siddi hum.
Om a hum benza guru padme siddi hum
(Om a hum benza guru padme siddi hum)
Seeking room to grow as you feel moved.
Om a hum benza guru padme siddi hum

Verse:
Wisdom might not ever come this far. I lose it by the sun and stars.
But in this forgiveness, I am graced by what has not been.

Pre-Chorus & Chorus Repeat

Bridge:
How can I explain as I have seen all the lessons learned? Things rarely seem
To correspond completely - invigorates my soul as it should be.
